MISSION IN MOTION Vickie Ozburn will be participating in the “Mission in Motion” pledge walk on Friday, June 23 as part of the 37th Biennial Convention of the LWML held this year in Albuquerque, NM (June 22-25). All donations support LWML mission grants for the 2017-2019 biennium. If you would like to give a pledge, there is a pledge form on the table in the Narthex.
PRISCILLA GUILD GARAGE SALE The Priscilla Guild will be having their annual garage sale and food booth on Saturday, August 5. Please place donated items in the designated rooms in the Sunday School wing. Parents/Adults: Please make sure children are accompanied by an adult if they are in the Sunday School wing prior to the garage sale in August. The Priscilla Guild would like to make sure all donated items remain in their designated rooms, and also some items may pose a safety risk to children. Thank you!
YOUTH SUMMER FUNDRAISER The youth are asking congregation members to save their cans and bottles this summer. There are two options for collection:
You can bring them to church (There is drop off area near the big freezer in the room off of the kitchen.)
If you have some that need to be picked up, you can let a youth know or text Sonya at 319-360-8521, and we will arrange a time to pick them up. Thank you for your support!!

Plan to Join Us in the Heritage Days Parade
All members of the congregation are invited to participate in St. Paul’s entry in the Heritage Days parade in Mt. Vernon on Saturday, July 8. We will have a float promoting VBS. There are spots for riders, as well as a need for people to pass out candy and VBS invitations. The parade starts at 11am. Line-up will be at 10am at the parking lot by the Cornell football field. More information to come!
Register Now Open for VBS
You may register your children (ages 3 through 5th grade in fall 2017) at our online VBS registration link on our church website home page: http://www.splcmv.org. There are also some paper registration forms on the table in the Narthex. Please place completed forms in my mailbox. Please register by June 25 if possible to help enable us to better plan for supplies.
Invite Your Friends and Family to VBS
There are invitation postcards on the table in the Narthex that you can use to invite your friends and family members (ages 3 – 5th grade) to VBS. We have plenty, so let me know if you need more!
Traveling this summer? Take Martin Luther with You!
As you travel around the local area, across the country, or abroad, bring Traveling Martin Luther with you. Take photos of him on the journey anywhere the Good News of God’s free gift of grace can be shared. We’ll post the pictures at church and on the St. Paul Facebook page. You can pick up your Traveling Luther from the folder hanging on the divider wall to Sonya’s office.

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF The Priscilla Guild is collecting items for baby care kits. The list of needed items is for the kits is on the flyer near the collection basket in the Narthex. There is now a list of all items needed for each LWR kit (1/2 sheet of paper) on the table near the basket. Please take one for reference while shopping for items. Summer garage sale season is a great time to find items for baby care kits!
DIRECTORY UPDATE The church directory will be updated and distributed in July. During the month of June, there is a current copy of the directory on the table in the Narthex. Please take a moment to check your listing and make any changes necessary. Thanks!

MISSION OF HOPE MEAL St. Paul will be serving the noon meal at Mission of Hope on Wednesday, June 28th. Mission of Hope’s free meal program operates at 1700 B Ave NE in Cedar Rapids Monday through Friday from 12pm – 1pm. One can find a hot, homemade meal served by staff, volunteers and a community of friends working together to restore hope and rebuild lives. Mission of Hope’s daily activities reflect our Lord’s call to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, and visit the imprisoned. Through partnerships with local churches and volunteers, six days each week, the mission now offers:
- Hot lunches for 115 to 150 people daily
- Food pantry for 30 to 50 visitors daily
- Clothes closet services for 18 to 25 men, women, and children weekly
- Shelter services for up to 18 men nightly
- Resources and programs for those leaving Linn County Correctional Center
- Discipleship and addiction recovery programs

THRIVENT NIGHT AT THE BALLPARK will be Tuesday, June 27 at 6:35pm. General admission tickets are $6, and are available from Thrivent: 3343 Southgate Cr. SW in Cedar Rapids, or call 366-2991. Proceeds will benefit our local Iowa Special Olympics.
JUNE INVITATIONAL The annual Lisbon United Methodist Women’s Invitational will be Wednesday, June 21 at 1:30pm.
