EVENING PRAYER SERVICE We will have an Evening Prayer service with communion this Wednesday, July 19 at 6:30pm. 

VOTERS’ ASSEMBLY The next quarterly voters’ assembly and potluck will be next Sunday, July 23 after the worship service. All members are encouraged to attend. All reports for the meeting packet are due to Tracy by Wednesday, July 19. There will be a special council meeting to prepare for the voters’ assembly TODAY following the worship service.  

CONGREGATIONAL QUARTERLY MISSION GIVING At our voters’ meeting on Sunday, July 23, we will be voting on our mission giving for the 2nd quarter. If you have suggestions for where to give our money, please talk to Willis Wulf (President), Pastor Hansen, or a member of the church council.

FELLOWSHIP VOLUNTEERS One to two families are needed to provide/serve fellowship on Sunday, July 30. There is a signup sheet on the wall near the counter in the fellowship hall. 

SAUERKRAUT DAYS in Lisbon will be held August 1112, and our church will again be having a food booth. We need some items donated, and cash donations are appreciated. Cash donations can be marked as such and put in the collection plate or given to Willis Wulf. Signup sheets for working and for donating items are on the table in the Narthex. Contact Willis Wulf for more information. 

PRISCILLA GUILD GARAGE SALE The Priscilla Guild will be having their annual garage sale and food booth on Saturday, August 5. Please place donated items in the designated rooms in the Sunday School wing. Signup sheets for food donations and workers are on the table in the Narthex. Parents/Adults: Please make sure children are accompanied by an adult if they are in the Sunday School wing prior to the garage sale in August. The Priscilla Guild would like to make sure all donated items remain in their designated rooms, and also some items may pose a safety risk to children. Thank you!

TRAVELING LUTHER As you travel around the local area, across the country, or abroad, bring Traveling Martin Luther with you.  Take photos of him on the journey anywhere the Good News of God’s free gift of grace can be shared.  We’ll post the pictures at church and on the St. Paul Facebook page.  You can pick up your Traveling Luther from the folder hanging on the divider wall to Sonya’s office. 

YOUTH SUMMER FUNDRAISER The youth are asking congregation members to save their cans and bottles this summer.  There are two options for collection:

You can bring them to church (There is drop off area near the big freezer in the room off of the kitchen.)

If you have some that need to be picked up, you can let a youth know or text Sonya at 319-360-8521, and we will arrange a time to pick them up.  Thank you for your support!! 

LWR KITS The Priscilla Guild is collecting items for baby care kits. The list of needed items is for the kits is on the flyer near the collection basket in the Narthex. There is now a list of all items needed for each LWR kit (1/2 sheet of paper) on the table near the basket. Please take one for reference while shopping for items. Summer garage sale season is a great time to find items for baby care kits!

BEST CHOICE UPC LABEL PROGRAM Just a reminder that the Priscilla Guild continues to collect Best Choice UPC bar codes (must have the bar code) for the Best Choice Save-A-Label fundraiser. Gary’s Foods in Mt. Vernon and Brother’s Market in Lisbon both carry this store brand. Cut out the UPC bar code, and place in the designated box in the church kitchen.

ALTAR FLOWERS There is a flower chart posted on the bulletin board. If you would like to provide altar flowers, please sign your name and write the occasion for which the flowers are being provided. 

SUMMERFEST AT CAMP On Saturday, July 29 Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca will hold its annual Summerfest fundraiser auction. Quilts and other fine craft items are being donated and will be auctioned off for the benefit of the Camp (donations still needed!). Past festivals have brought in over $10,000 for Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. Beginning at 10am the Camp will host the 1 mile and 5K fun runs for kids and adults. The top 3 placers in each event will receive 2018 camp scholarships! Activities such as the climbing wall, archery, horseback rides and swimming will be available before the auction which begins at 2pm.


VBS Was Great!
We had a great week at VBS with 42 kids who attended this year.  Our mission offering will go to the East Side Mission in Davenport so they can purchase Sunday School materials for the year.  If you would like to donate to this project, please place your donation in the offering plate with the designation of “East Side Mission SS”.

Congregation Picnic and Pool Party
Make plans to join us for a congregation picnic and pool party on Sunday, August 6 at Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca.  We will start to gather at 4:00 p.m. for swimming and socializing.  We will plan to eat around 6:00.  Burgers, hot dogs, drinks and table service will be provided.

Please bring a side dish to share.  If you plan to attend, please sign up on the table in the Narthex so we can plan for an appropriate amount of food.

LEGO® PIECES NEEDED Word of God Lutheran Church for the Deaf (LCMS), Cedar Rapids, is collecting LEGOs to piece together educational kits to send to elementary Lutheran schools in Africa.  Please donate before July 30, 2017.  We are accepting all LEGO sets and individual pieces – bricks, technic, etc. – we can use whatever you are willing to give!  Questions?
