TRAVELING LUTHER As you travel around the local area, across the country, or abroad, bring Traveling Martin Luther with you.  Take photos of him on the journey anywhere the Good News of God’s free gift of grace can be shared.  We’ll post the pictures at church and on the St. Paul Facebook page.  You can pick up your Traveling Luther from the folder hanging on the divider wall to Sonya’s office.

YOUTH SUMMER FUNDRAISER The youth are asking congregation members to save their cans and bottles this summer.  There are two options for collection:

You can bring them to church (There is drop off area near the big freezer in the room off of the kitchen.)

If you have some that need to be picked up, you can let a youth know or text Sonya at 319-360-8521, and we will arrange a time to pick them up.  Thank you for your support!!

LWR KITS The Priscilla Guild is collecting items for baby care kits. The list of needed items for the kits is on the flyer near the collection basket in the Narthex. There is now a list of all items needed for each LWR kit (1/2 sheet of paper) on the table near the basket. Please take one for reference while shopping for items. Summer garage sale season is a great time to find items for baby care kits!

BEST CHOICE UPC LABEL PROGRAM Just a reminder that the Priscilla Guild continues to collect Best Choice UPC bar codes (must have the bar code) for the Best Choice Save-A-Label fundraiser. Gary’s Foods in Mt. Vernon and Brother’s Market in Lisbon both carry this store brand. Cut out the UPC bar code, and place in the designated box in the church kitchen.

CAMP NEWS With the end of summer in sight, there are two great ways to support Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca’s mission of providing Christ-centered education, recreation and inspiration for our campers. First, plan to be at Summerfest on July 29! Though our first quilts for auction have been delivered, we still need more quilts and other fine craft items to be donated and then auctioned off for the benefit of the camp. Send yours in today! Past festivals have brought in over $10,000 for Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca, and we need your donations and attendance to make Summerfest 2017 a success. We’ll also be having our 1-mile and 5-K fun runs for kids and adults. The top three placers in each receive 2018 camp scholarships. The 1-mile run starts at 10:00, the 5-K at 10:20, other great camp activities at 11:00 and the auction at 1:00. Food will be available for purchase in the camp store.

Second, if you are a Thrivent Member, Thrivent is giving online users $50 of Thrivent Choice money to designate to your non-profit organization of choice. Head on over to thrivent.com, log in, and designate your dollars in support of Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca! In 2016, Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca received $15,614 in Thrivent Choice contributions! Thank you, donors, for making this program a success for Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. Will you help make 2017 an even more exceptional year in Thrivent Choice giving? We hope so! Thank you for all of your support of Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca, and we hope to see you at Summerfest!

LEGO® PIECES NEEDED Word of God Lutheran Church for the Deaf (LCMS), Cedar Rapids, is collecting LEGOs to piece together educational kits to send to elementary Lutheran schools in Africa.  Please donate before July 30, 2017.  We are accepting all LEGO sets and individual pieces – bricks, technic, etc. – we can use whatever you are willing to give!  Questions? Contact Pastor Tim Eckert deaflutheran@q.com or 563-359-7105.  Donations may be dropped off in the church office here at St. Paul.  Thank you for sharing the love of Christ with kids in Africa!
