CAMP NEWS With the end of summer in sight, there are two great ways to support Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca’s mission of providing Christ-centered education, recreation and inspiration for our campers. First, plan to be at Summerfest on July 29! Though our first quilts for auction have been delivered, we still need more quilts and other fine craft items to be donated and then auctioned off for the benefit of the camp. Send yours in today! Past festivals have brought in over $10,000 for Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca, and we need your donations and attendance to make Summerfest 2017 a success. We’ll also be having our 1-mile and 5-K fun runs for kids and adults. The top three placers in each receive 2018 camp scholarships. The 1-mile run starts at 10:00, the 5-K at 10:20, other great camp activities at 11:00 and the auction at 1:00. Food will be available for purchase in the camp store.

Second, if you are a Thrivent Member, Thrivent is giving online users $50 of Thrivent Choice money to designate to your non-profit organization of choice. Head on over to, log in, and designate your dollars in support of Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca! In 2016, Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca received $15,614 in Thrivent Choice contributions! Thank you, donors, for making this program a success for Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. Will you help make 2017 an even more exceptional year in Thrivent Choice giving? We hope so! Thank you for all of your support of Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca, and we hope to see you at Summerfest!

LEGO® PIECES NEEDED Word of God Lutheran Church for the Deaf (LCMS), Cedar Rapids, is collecting LEGOs to piece together educational kits to send to elementary Lutheran schools in Africa.  Please donate before July 30, 2017.  We are accepting all LEGO sets and individual pieces – bricks, technic, etc. – we can use whatever you are willing to give!  Questions?
