Collecting Necessities for Orphan Grain TrainDestitute people around the world need basic necessities. Thousands of children in India, Latvia, Liberia, Nicaragua, and other countries helped by Orphan Grain Train do not have good underwear or socks. With only the shirt on their backs since the day of their destitution, it’s difficult for them to obtain good clothes, not to mention undergarments.  For the month of February, we will be collecting NEW underwear and socks for Orphan Grain Train to send to needy people! Men’s, women’s, boy’s and girl’s—all sizes are needed.  There is a collection box on the small table in the fellowship hall where you can put your donations.  Please have all of your donations to the church by February 25.

Journey to the Cross – March 24
Join us for a sensory learning event that covers the last days of Jesus’ life on earth. Meet witnesses from the Bible; taste, touch, feel, and be a part of the Passion story; take a walking Journey with your passport in hand, and be transported back to the time of Christ. This hands-on event on the morning of Sat., March 24 is for all members of St. Paul and their guests.  It’s the perfect way to prepare for Holy Week as you experience the events from Palm Sunday through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We will be needing several volunteers.  Please check out the signup sheet on the table in the Narthex.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS Valentines/Lent Activity: Today the children made valentines for the shut-ins and snowbirds of the congregation. They also learned about the season of Lent. Ask them how long Lent lasts and what happens to the “Alleluias” during Lent. We also talked about fasting or giving up something for Lent and why some people do that. Talk it over with your child to see if they would like to give up something for Lent this year (but don’t require it). Each family received a devotional with suggested readings from the Story Bible to use during the season of Lent. It is in your mailbox.

GREETING CARDS Valentine’s Day cards are now available in the card display in the Narthex. Card are $1 each, and funds go to the youth group. Place money in the coffee can on the small table.

LABORERS FOR CHRIST-MORE LABORERS ARE NEEDED! LFC is a service provided by Lutheran Church Extension Fund to help LCMS ministries save money on their building projects. BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES Building Healthy Families: Did you know the world has declared a special week to celebrate one of the fruits of the Spirit? The founders of National Random Acts of Kindness Week might not know it, but they have: kindness is on the list in Galatians 5! How might you give witness to the faith that is in you by doing something “unusually kind”, in Jesus name, for someone this week? Shovel your neighbor’s snow, pay for the order of the car behind you in the drive through, send flowers to someone who lives alone, stop to visit someone living in a care center…be creative and have fun!
