SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS Today the children learned about the events of Holy Week and Easter. We read the stories of Jesus triumphal entry (Palm Sunday), the Lord’s supper (Maundy Thursday), the passion of Christ (Good Friday), and Jesus’ resurrection from the dead (Easter). For each of these stories, the children got to act out, feel, or taste something as a way to connect with the events of Holy Week. Ask your child the following questions: What did they do when Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey? What foods did Jesus serve to His disciples when he shared the Passover meal with them? What did the soldiers put on Jesus’ head before they crucified him? What words do we say to one another on Easter to remind us that Jesus rose from the dead? Why did Jesus die on the cross?

LWML SPRING ZONE RALLY Can YOU come forth and let your light shine during times of trial? That’s what LWML is all about! Join us Saturday, April 14 at Bethany Lutheran in Cedar Rapids for breakfast and Bible study. Enjoy a presentation by Ronda Anderson, speaking on “Letting Your Faith Shine During Times of Trial”. She will be sharing about how trials bring us to a fork in the road and the choices we make affect us greatly. She will be using examples from Stephen Ministries of the mud hole and the true identity of the tree. A signup sheet is located in the Narthex. Registration is at 8:30am with breakfast at 9am. Check out the poster on the bulletin board for more information.

BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES Did You Know: As you hear again the account of Jesus’ last days throughout this Holy Week, of solemn worship and reverent contemplation, realize that each step, each action, each spoken word, was for you. You are indeed that priceless to Him. Make a conscious choice to set aside your worries and fears for this week. Replace them with an awareness of His love, not globally for the whole world, but personally for you. Family Service (Quad Cities Reginal office 563-359-0696 or
