MINISTRY TO THE ARMED FORCES May 19 was Armed Forces Day, and May 28 is Memorial Day. An insert with information about the LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces (as well as a donation envelope if you would like to give to this cause) is in your bulletin today. Please keep our nation’s military in your prayers.
EVENING PRAYER SERVICE There will be an Evening Prayer service with communion this Wednesday, May 23 at 6:30pm. All are welcome.
TABLE TALKS Join us for Table Talk as part of our continuing church planning process. During fellowship time after the worship service on June 3, 10, & 17, we’ll dedicate three tables to discuss three broad topics that emerged through previous planning meetings: Spirit (worship, & learning), Community (volunteerism & activities), and Home (physical property & improvements). In this stage of the planning process, we want to flesh-out specific ideas, outline challenges and solutions, and start to create action plans. These are informal chats, but we will have volunteer facilitators for each topic, and we will use templates to help guide the discussions. For more information, contact Council President Scott Baumler.
MISSION OF HOPE MEAL St. Paul will be providing/serving the noon meal at Mission of Hope on Wednesday, June 13. Volunteers are needed to provide bars and to help serve at the mission. There are signup sheets in the Narthex.
WORK PROJECT AT CAMP Our church is organizing a work project at Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. The date is Saturday, June 9. We will be deconstructing the raft village. A signup sheet is in the Narthex. Questions can be referred to Jeff Adrian, 319-654-6780.

BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES Know someone who struggles with perfectionism? Perhaps you? Although motivated by a desire for good, perfectionism has been rightly described as a fast and enduring track to unhappiness. Whether it’s your chaotic system of storing tax receipts, the disorder in your workshop or hobby room, or the messiness of your life in general, give yourself a break and remember this good news: You are saved by grace, not by works. The pressure is off. Always do your best but don’t let a mistake or an error or a bad habit define you. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus…”. (Romans 8:1-2) Lutheran Family Service (Quad Cities Regional Office 563-359-0696 or LFSiowa.org)
