THRIVENT ACTION TEAMS What could the church do with $25,000?  This is approximately the amount of Action Team money available to St. Paul Thrivent members.  In order to better utilize these Thrivent resources, Thrivent members are encouraged to sign up.  Signing up will allow church officials, such as Pastors, Elders, Council members, etc. to know who Thrivent members are and reach out when there are opportunities to use Action Teams for projects.  Sign-up is located on the table in the Narthex.

Bring It Home:  Reading the Great Stories of the Bible
The Bring It Home Bible reading plan starts this week.  If you requested to receive the readings in your church mailbox, they are in there now.  If you requested to receive them via email, you should receive it to your inbox this afternoon.  Please let me know if you have any problems receiving the email message, and I will work to help identify a fix.

If you haven’t had a chance yet to sign up for the Bring It Home study, you can still do so today.  There is a signup sheet on the table in the Narthex, as well as a few extra reading plan sheets if you want to grab one.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS An Angel Visits Joseph: Matthew 1:18-25; Story Bible pp. 278-280. Today in Sunday School, we studied “An Angel Visits Joseph.” Just as the angel proclaimed to Joseph that Mary would bear an infant who is the Son of God, the Savior, so God proclaimed to us in His Word that this same Jesus is our Savior from sin and death. Parents could ask, “What important message did the angel give Joseph? What important message do we hear in God’s Word?”

THRIVENT CHOICE DOLLARS® Since 2014, St. Paul has received Thrivent Choice Dollars® to help support its charitable outreach projects, and we sincerely thank all members for making this possible! Eligible Thrivent Financial members have until March 31, 2019 to direct available Choice Dollars®. Thousands of dollars go undirected each year, so don’t miss this opportunity to recommend that Thrivent Financial provide outreach funding to St. Paul Lutheran Church or any of your favorite non-profit organizations. Go to to learn more, or call your representative. There are also brochures and instructions on how how to direct your Thrivent Choice Dollars® on the table in the Narthex. Thank you!

BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES February is known as the month of love. But oftentimes that word is used out of context. In the same sentence someone may say, “I love my spouse and I love chocolate.” The latter is not a true use of the word if we really look at what God says about love. In John 15:12-13, we read, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” How will you show true sacrificial love today?
