ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL Who Am I: Join us on Sunday mornings at 8:30am to discuss the questions, “Who am I?” “What am I doing here?” In this six-part video-based study from Lutheran Hour Ministries, Dr. Joel Biermann will explore what God has revealed about life’s biggest questions in six videos. The first session is on February 17.

NURSERY Volunteers are needed to staff the church nursery during the Sunday School hour. Two people are needed each Sunday. There is a signup sheet in the Narthex for Sundays through May. Any questions, please contact Erica McConaughy.

LWR KITS During February the Priscilla Guild is collecting all items for personal care kits for Lutheran World Relief. There is a list of items needed by the donation basket near the church entry doors. Contact Gloria Krob for more information.

THRIVENT ACTION TEAMS What could the church do with $25,000?  This is approximately the amount of Action Team money available to St. Paul Thrivent members.  In order to better utilize these Thrivent resources, Thrivent members are encouraged to sign up.  Signing up will allow church officials, such as Pastors, Elders, Council members, etc. to know who Thrivent members are and reach out when there are opportunities to use Action Teams for projects.  Sign-up is located on the table in the Narthex.

THRIVENT CHOICE DOLLARS® Since 2014, St. Paul has received Thrivent Choice Dollars® to help support its charitable outreach projects, and we sincerely thank all members for making this possible! Eligible Thrivent Financial members have until March 31, 2019 to direct available Choice Dollars®. Thousands of dollars go undirected each year, so don’t miss this opportunity to recommend that Thrivent Financial provide outreach funding to St. Paul Lutheran Church or any of your favorite non-profit organizations. Go to Thrivent.com/thriventchoice to learn more, or call your representative. There are also brochures and instructions on how to direct your Thrivent Choice Dollars® on the table in the Narthex. Thank you!

More than Money Matters – Save the Date
On Sunday, March 3 we will be offering a mini-workshop covering strategies to help Christians use their money wisely so they can live lives of contentment, confidence, and generosity. The workshop will help participants establish  a  system to  actively  manage their  money to align financial decisions with their values and make progress toward their goals.  Participants will also learn how to communicate about money with those closest to them. The free workshop, sponsored by Thrivent Financial, will be held in our fellowship hall from 4-6 p.m.  Childcare will be available for those who need it. SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS Today in Sunday School we talked about God’s great love for us and that He sacrificed His only Son so that we might have eternal life.  We made valentines to send to shut-ins to share that love with others.

BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES Thanksgiving isn’t the only time to be thankful! What is one thing you’re thankful for or something good you could find in the day? Don’t keep it to yourself! Share your thoughts with family members or your spouse. And remember to thank God who is the giver of good gifts! “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17 Lutheran Family Service (Quad Cities Regional Office 563-359-0696 and/or this web address: LutheranFamilyService.org).

PARENT CAFÉ is an informal discussion group that offers an opportunity for parents of children 18 and under to connect with others to share tips and ideas. It is every Tuesday through March 26 (extended due to weather cancellations) from 5:30-7:30pm at the SE Linn Community Center in Lisbon. Come to any or all sessions. Free meal and childcare provided. Call/text Steve at 319-241-1400 to RSVP or for more information.
