NEWS FROM THE FAMILY LIFE COORDINATOR

Lenten Cross Project
Today in Sunday School, the students started a project that we would like others from the congregation to join in on.  We’re inviting everyone from the congregation who would like to participate to decorate a cross (using crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.).  We are going to create a larger display cross using the individual crosses.  We have blank crosses on the table in the Narthex that you can take home, decorate, and bring back before Easter to add to the display.  Or, there will also be tables set up in the fellowship hall after worship where you can decorate your cross while enjoying some fellowship time.  Please put completed crosses in the Baumler mailbox.

Easter Candy Needed
We are looking for a few donations of individually wrapped Easter candy – or other small child-safe items – to put in the eggs for the egg hunt on Easter morning.  If you are able to donate, please sign up on the sheet on the table in the narthex.  You may place donations in the box in the Sunday School office by Sunday, April 14.

Upcoming Dates
March 27 – Holy Spirit Adult Bible Study, following Lenten service
April 21 – Easter, Egg hunt at 9 a.m.
July 21-25 – VBS

BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES It is recommended that children read at least 15-20 minutes per day. If families get involved together, it makes for an even greater positive impact! Consider using a children’s devotional or Bible to create this reading time as part of a family devotion. Your child will have the opportunity to read aloud and you will have the opportunity to share God’s love with him or her! “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 Lutheran Family Service (Quad Cities Regional Office 563-359-0696 and/or this web address: LutheranFamilyService.org).
